It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of David Joseph Boudreau, 79, of Little Dover. He passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, November 8th, 2021, in the Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso.
Born on April 20th 1942, he was the son of the late James and Blanch Boudreau. He was a member of St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church. Dave spent most of his working career on and around the sea where he made many lifelong friends. He worked on the Great Lakes, for Eastern Shore Fisheries and finished his career as a supervisor of the salt fish division for Seafreeze Foods in Canso. In his younger years, he was a member of the Little Dover Volunteer Fire Department and the Little Dover Men's Club. After he retired his passion became gardening, where he grew 'The Best' carrots and strawberries. He also enjoyed walking, reading, and spending time with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol of 58 years, his daughters, Sandra, Oakville, ON; Patsy (Walter), Mount Uniacke; Wanda (Pat), Little Dover; Jennifer (Curtis), Little Dover; son in-law Danny (Little Dover); his 11 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. He is also survived by his sisters, Betty, Little Dover; Marg (Perry), Canso; his brother, Austin (Dorothy), Bayfield; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Marg), of Canso; sister-in-law, Marlaine, of Canso; and brother-in-law, Alcide, of Little Dover. He was predeceased by his daughter, Karen; his brothers, Harry, Vernon, and Garfield; his sisters, Victoria and Sandra, and his parents James and Blanch Boudreau.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Eastern Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion during his short stay.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 18th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Due to vaccine mandates a small family funeral mass of 25 will take place at 11 am on Friday, November 19th in St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church in Little Dover with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to the Eastern Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.
