Arlene, Thomas, and Dougald: Like a lot of guys of a certain age from Judique, I used to spend a lot of time at Bobby and Anna Mae's growing up. That's where I first got to know Wayne. I got to know him much better when we both lived in the same apartment building Halifax in the late 80s. I'll always remember us watching Jeopardy every evening (and driving to pick him up in Stewiacke late one Sunday because his car broke down!) He was a funny, interesting man and in later years I always enjoyed meeting up with him in Judique and we'd catch up. You guys were his world and his cool demeanour could never conceal that. I wish I had seen more of him the past few years. He will be deeply missed. David MacNeil

He was an awesome kind man to work with. He spoke fondly of the boys and proud of them. We both loved the Montreal Canadiens and I miss him now that we're close to the Stanley Cup. Dear Arlene, Thomas and Dougald, I was so saddened to hear of Wayne's sudden passing. It was truly a shock that causes one to stop instantly to try to process the loss of someone so special and of whom you have so many fond memories. I've known the MacEachern's and the Campbell's for many years, have had the benefit of their collective hospitality, their wit, and their music. You folks have given me so many fond memories over the years that, upon learning of Wayne's passing, I shed a few tears. I know Wayne would have come up a quick one liner for that one," Stanley, ya got a bug in yer eye?",that would change the mood quickly to one of laughter. I worked with Wayne at the east as a cleaner for 4 years until I transferred closer to home. Wayne was always so upbeat, never a worry or complaint and so happy to be heading to Judique at the end of the day...his loss is felt by all who knew him.
