Maughn, Valerie Elaine (Clyke) - Age 51, London, Ontario formerly of Sunnyville, Guysborough Co. Valerie passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario. Born in Antigonish on August 25, 1969, she was a daughter of Martha Jane (Clyke) Mansfield and Clyde Mansfield, Sunnyville, Guys Co. Valerie left her hometown in 1998 to pursue a career as a PSW in London, Ont. Besides her parents, Valerie is survived her husband, Mark Maughn, London, Ont.; son, Justin Clyke (Jenna Powers), Dartmouth; brother, Corey Clyke (Jennifer Mansfield), Antigonish; sister, Natasha Clyke Heighton (Larry Heighton), Halifax; grandchildren, Isaiah Clyke and Kylie Hartley, Dartmouth; uncle, Harry Clyke, Sunnyville; niece, Kourtney Clyke, Antigonish. She was predeceased by her grandparents, many aunts, uncles and cousins. Valerie will be dearly missed by her family in Nova Scotia and by those who shared in her daily life In London, Ontario, her cousin, Rachel, extended family, and many close friends she viewed as her family; the staff and residents where she worked at Kensington Village - Retirement Home, London and previously, Omni Healthcare Country Terrace, Komoka. Valerie will be remembered for her caring, fun loving nature and bright smile. The family thanks all of the Doctors, Nurses and ICU team of the Victoria Hospital in London for the care they provided. Cremation has taken place. Visitation and Celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 17 at 2 p.m. in Sunnyville United Baptist Church, Sunnyville with Pastor Clara Jordan officiating. Burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Guysborough. Memorial donations in memory of Valerie may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
