MacDONALD (Ryan), Mary Christena "Tena" – Age 79 of Creignish, Inverness Co. It is with deep sadness that the family of Tena MacDonald announce her passing on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, after a long, brave fight with cancer. Born February 18th, 1941 in Antigonish, she was the daughter of the late Allan and Mary (Maime) Ryan. Tena was a proud mother, grandmother and great grandmother; and friend to many. She loved sitting down with someone for a "good cup of tea", spending time with her family, country music, Bingo, playing cards, yardsaling and shopping. She is survived by her sister, Winnie Yates, Willow Bunch, SK; sisters-in-law: Mavis MacLennan, Regina, SK; Isabel Ryan, Tantallon, SK; Gloria Ryan, Regina, SK; son, Allan "Sandy" MacDonald, Fort McMurray, AB; daughter, Gemma (Jim) Campbell, Creignish, NS; daughter, Madonna (Rick Rivard) MacDonald, Clyde, AB; son, Ryan (Dawn) MacDonald, Sharon, ON; daughter, Altena (Stephen) MacDonald, Oakville, ON; grandchildren, Crystal, Devon, Brandon, Ryan, Liam, Cameron, Drew, Alexa, Holly, Al and Ray; great grandchildren, Sulley, Anthony, Uriah, Emma; lifelong friend Catherine MacDonald; her furry companion Mia; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander "Alex Dan C" MacDonald; brother, Sandy Ryan; sister, Jessie d’Entremont; brother, Johnny Ryan; sister, Lorraine Kennedy; brother, Willard Ryan; and brother, Eugene Ryan. Thank you to all the doctors, nurses and continuing care workers who took care of Mom. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her family, extended family, and friends. Due to COVID 19 restrictions there will be no visitation, a celebration of her life will take place at a later time. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
