MacDONALD (Graham), Mary Jane – Judique / St. Peter’s. On Tuesday, September 1, 2020, Mary Jane MacDonald passed away peacefully at the age of 95 in the Richmond Villa, St. Peter’s. She was the wife of the late Archie MacDonald and the daughter of the late Angus John and Euphemia (Chisholm) Graham. Mary was a very proud "Judiquer" who was able to stay comfortably in her own home until her ninety-first birthday due to the kindness and support of her nieces and nephews, especially Tommy, Allan and Marlene Graham and Carol Oliver. She was very close to her many nieces and nephews and they could always count on a phone call from her with best wishes on their birthdays. Mary appreciated her many cherished neighbours and friends in Judique who not only gave her rides and paid her visits, but continued to visit with her in her new home in St. Peter’s. She was a member of St. Andrew’s Parish, Judique and a volunteer with many parish and community organizations. Mary had a phenomenal memory and enjoyed sharing her expertise with others. Many sought her knowledge of historical events and genealogy in Inverness County and in Judique in particular. She is survived by her brother, Duncan Graham, Moncton; brother-in-law, Richard Felix, Ontario; many nieces and nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and godchild, Mary Elizabeth (MacMaster) MacInnis. She was predeceased by her husband, Archie MacDonald; sisters, Catherine Oliver and Anne Gillis; brothers, John, Bill, Vincent and Francis Graham; brothers-in-law, Robert Oliver, Angus Gillis, Sam Batherson; sisters-in-law, Margaret, Monica, Louise and Kaddie Graham, Mary Flora Batherson and Florence Felix. Mary and her family were very grateful for the care and companionship she received from the staff and residents at Richmond Villa. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family funeral will be held in St. Andrew’s Parish, Judique. There will be no visitation. Donations in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Andrew’s Cemetery Fund, Judique, the Richmond Villa Recreation Fund or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
