RICHARDS, Louise Mary – Age 93, Hazel Hill, Guysborough Co., passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, in Canso Seaside Manor, Canso. Born in Ogden, Guysborough Co., she was a daughter of the late John A. and Margaret (Chisholm) MacAllister. Louise was an avid card player as well liked to do crossword puzzles. She gave to numerous charities over the years and was on the Executive member of the Federal and Provincial Liberal Parties for many years. She was community minded and loved to help out and donate to community functions. She was kind and caring and loved animals. Surviving are her son, Anthony (Monica Kennedy) Chisholm, Guysborough; brother, Henry MacAllister, Toronto; stepdaughters, Gareth (Alvin) Winmill, Rosalie (late Sylvester) Parker, Crystal (Jessie Dessureault) Richards; stepson, Craig (Michelle Munroe) Richards, all of Hazel Hill; sister-in-law, Vera MacAllister; grandchildren, Darlene, Glenda (Aubrey), Trina (Robert), Kevin (Tanya), Melanie (Brent), Chris (Kyla Cameron); 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild. Louise was predeceased by her first husband, Archibald Chisholm; second husband, Edward Richards; daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Lindsay Andrews; stepsons, Morris and Kenny Richards; brothers, Christopher, William, Donald; sisters, Sally and Hilda. The family would like to thank at this time the nurses and staff of the Canso Seaside Manor and Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. A very special thank you also to Nancy MacDonald who has been a special friend to Louise and showed much care and compassion towards her. Visitation will be from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. In keeping with COVID-19 guidelines, face masks must be worn during the visitation. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday in St. Thomas Parish Cemetery, Salmon River with Father Callistus Abazie officiating. Family flowers only please.
