MacINNIS, Calvin Robinson - With broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Calvin Robinson MacInnis on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at the age of 64. His death took place at home while surrounded by family. Calvin was born on November 20, 1955 in Baddeck, NS to Rachel Mary and the late Malcolm Neil MacInnis.
In his earlier years, Calvin worked as an auto body technician in various parts of Ontario and Nova Scotia. For the last 25 years he was the manager of the Victoria Highland Civic Centre and operated a landscaping business caring for many properties in and around the community of Baddeck. Calvin was also an active community volunteer and sat on community boards including the Little Narrows Community Centre, the Little Narrows Cemetery Association, and the Victoria Highland Civic Centre. Calvin will be fondly remembered for his selflessness, sense of humor, willingness to help others and strong work ethic.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, Saint John, NB; son, Jason (Angela), Dartmouth NS; grandchildren, Camryn, Benjamin, and Rachel; mother, Rachel, Baddeck; brothers, Wayne, Calgary AB, Melvin (Cathy), Whycocomagh, NS, Darrell (Charlotte), Coburg, ON, and Kevin (Berna), Calgary, AB; sisters, Linda (Gregory) MacKenzie, Whycocomagh, NS and Darlene (Frank MacNeil) Iona, NS; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by his infant twin daughters, Janice and Julia; father, Malcolm Neil; brother, Cecil Bryan; and cousin, Angus Robinson.
Thank you to friends for your kindness and caring during this time. A special thank you to Katie Ross, David MacRae, Alex and Wendy Wong, Jessica Wong, Samantha MacDonald, as well, Sandy and Annie Campbell for all your love and support over the past ten months. You were there to help every step of the way. Also thank you Dr. Ritter, Cathy MacMillan and Paulette Levine for your compassion and support.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
