LeBlanc, Numan Jean - 82 of Long Point, Inv. Co., passed away Monday, August 31, 2009 in Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney with his family by his side. He was the son of the Late Remi LeBlanc & Anne Jeanne (Martel). Born in Arichat, Nov. 19, 1926. He married Florence Margaret Wills of Long Point on Nov. 8, 1952. Numan worked part of his life at the Halifax Shipyard, was a lobster fisherman and retired with the Dept. of Transportation. Numan was a single father to 12 children for 30 years after the passing of his beloved wife Florence. Numan loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed old time Country music and sing songs with family, friends and especially with his nephews Bernie & Bobby LeBlanc. Numan’s house was always open to neighbours, family and friends. He followed his Acadian traditions celebrating a Reveillon after midnight mass each Christmas Eve. Numan’s grandchildren brought him great pleasure and they loved his teasing and his great sense of humor. Numan is survived by his children: Sandra (Peter) Sutherland, Port Hood; Patsy (Joey) Gillis, Port Hood; Darlene (Brian) MacDonald, Judique; Raymond ( Heather), Dartmouth; Nancy, Long Point; Michele (Andrew) MacMillan, Mabou Ridge; Chris (Norma) Judique; Mary LeBlanc (Mike Bond), Joseph Long Point, Larry Calgary, Lisa LeBlanc (Robert Thorne) West Mabou and Charlene (Mike) Warren, Monastery. Numan also leaves to mourn grand children, Sheldon and Dale Gillis, Lindsay and Michael Sutherland, Kalin and Danielle Le Blanc, Nathan, Tina and Jeramy MacDonald, Risa Le Blanc, Nicholas, Christena and Shania MacMillan, Andy, Vince, Kezi, Sidnie and Colin LeBlanc, Brandi, Tyler and Logan Bond, Taylor Thorne, Ryan, Devin and John Michael Warren; great-granddaughter Kiera Gillis and anxiously awaiting two great grandson’s in November, sister Melanie DeWolfe, Halifax. Besides his wife Numan was predeceased by 13 half brothers and sisters and 10 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Wednesday and 11:00 a.m.-1:00p.m. Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, in Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Creignish with Fr. Hughie D. MacDonald officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in Numan’s memory may be made to Creignish Cemetery Fund.
