Hendsbee, Catherine … 95, of Guysborough, formerly of Half Island Cove, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2009, in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Port Felix, she was the daughter of the late Remi and Mary Pellerine of Port Felix. Katie’s love for cooking, warm smiles and her desire for hugs will always be remembered. We will never forget how she always welcomed everyone that stopped in for a visit, and made sure they were amply fed. She was an avid seamstress and quilt maker. Katie is survived by her two loving daughters, Frieda (Arnold) Kennedy, Guysborough, and Naida (Rick) Millican, Edmonton; grandchildren Alison MacKinnon, Bedford; Jim Kennedy, Antigonish; Steven Millican, Houston, Texas; and Mark Millican, Edmonton; and five great grandchildren, Peter, Ryan, Daniel, Andrew and Alexis. She was predeceased by her late husband, Manford; brother, Fred; and sister, Anne. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 3rd from 6:00…9:00 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home Ltd, Guysborough. Funeral mass will be held in St. Anns Roman Catholic Church, Guysborough on Tuesday at 10:00 am, Father Bill Crispo officiating. Burial to follow in the Bayview Baptist Cemetery, Half Island Cove. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Guysborough Memorial Hospital Foundation, family flowers only please. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Homes Ltd., Guysborough.
