CAMPBELL, Flora H. — 96, Boylston, Guysborough Co., passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009, in Milford Haven Home For Special Care, Guysborough. Flora was born in Liverpool, England in 1913, a daughter of George Pynn and Beatrice Ann Crane and came to Canada with her parents in 1920. She attended Tower Road School in Halifax, played the harp in the CHNS orchestra in the late 1920's and early 1930's. She was a member of St. Paul's Anglican Church, Boylston for 53 years, played the organ there and in several other area churches and also taught piano to many children in the area. She was a member and Past Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star, Guysborough and also a founding member of Chedabucto Curling Club, Boylston, and was a volunteer in many community projects.
She is survived by sons, David (Marlene), Dartmouth and Wilfred, Ontario; grandson, Christopher (Isabelle); granddaughter, Lesley (Michael) Manuel; great-grandchildren, Peter and Joshua Campbell, Madison and Stone Manuel. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, William Campbell; brothers, Leonard and Harry and baby sister, Lily.
Cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at a later date. There will be no visitation or memorial service as per her request. The family greatly appreciates the love and special care from Shirley Nixon, Nancy Grady, doctors, nurses and all staff associated with The Milford Haven Home For Special Care. Donations in Flora's memory may be made to The Guysborough Memorial Hospital or The Milford Haven Home for Special Care.
