Like everyone else ,I was shocked to get the news. He was in great spirits when I last spoke with him about a month back. I had called to offer my condolences on the passing of Jim St.Clair, a man who John held in high regard. Both loved their community, were passionate about its history, it's culture and its people. Johnny was a gentleman unless of course there was a scoreboard ,time clock or any other source of measurement , his inevitable competitive nature would take charge . He loved to debate , most times taking a position in support of an underdog , and the topic mattered not. He was a role model and a mentor to many , loved and respected by his peers. He knew how blessed he was to have a great partner in Cathy and could not be more proud of his family. We lost a good man.
