Chisholm, Frederick Brydall “Fred”- 87, Guysborough Intervale, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the late Colin and Hattie (Chisholm) Chisholm. Fred was a retired heavy equipment mechanic and shop foreman with the Department of Transportation , Guysborough, a member of AA for 22 years and was also a meeting leader, a member of St. Patrick’s Parish, Guysborough Intervale and a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 81, Guysborough. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the R.C.A.F., 1939-1944 as an Airframe Technician and received Senior Matriculation from the University of Toronto. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eadie (Strachan) and his children Joe (Kay), Havendale; Dan (Mary), Puerto Rico; Shirley (Roger Gallant), Alberton, PEI; Ron (Ann), Lower Sackville; Glenn (Carlie), Williams Point; Wayne (Cindy), Malignant Cove; Allister (Nancy), Singapore; Eileen (Tom White), Country Harbour; Rick (Pam), Antigonish; Helen (Leo Halloran) Porters Lake; Jerry (Edwina); Dunmore; Terry , Afghanistan; 26 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Bobby, brother, Bill and twin brothers Joe and Chris. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m., Wednesday in St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Guysborough Intervale, Father Jonathan Nweke officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Fred may be made to St. Patrick’s Cemetery Fund, Canadian Cancer Society or Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxillary.
