Myers (Welsh), Naomi Lydia – Age 85, Boylston. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, granny, and sister. Naomi passed away peacefully with family by her side on Friday, January 29, 2021 in Guysborough Memorial Hospital. Born in Hadleyville, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Viola (Parks) Welsh.
Naomi was a loving wife, skilled home maker, a proud mother, grandmother and granny, sister, gracious neighbour and friend to many.
She is survived by her children, David Myers, Steep Creek; Myrtle Myers, Ottawa; Elliott Myers, Boylston; Faye Shea (Jeffrey), Lesterdale; Judy Richard (Clayton), Halifax; Jane MacDonald (Leonard), Halifax; grandchildren, Alysha Myers, Jenna George, Carter MacDonald; great-grandchildren, Calleigh and Thomas; siblings, Basil, Horace, Francis, George, Jessie, Kenneth. She was predeceased by her husband, Willard Myers; her siblings, Robert, Ellen, David and Agnes Mae.
Naomi had a great sense of humour, a passion for cooking and love of all animals, she will be missed by her beloved cat, Mickey.
She was able to manage her illness with strength and grace and with a remarkable positive attitude due to the professional care she received at home, this care was greatly appreciated by Naomi and her family. Her final days were spent at Guysborough Hospital where she received the most compassionate, kind and dignified care one could hope for.
Due to COVID 19 restrictions there will be no visitation, a celebration of life will take place, 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 3rd, in Wesley United Church, Guysborough with Rev. Susan Slater officiating. Private burial at a later date. Limited seating available due to social distancing.
Social distancing rules will be in effect for the funeral service and attendees will be asked to provide their names and phone numbers upon arrival. Face coverings must be worn at all times.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Guysborough Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.
