MacFADYEN, Geraldine Frances “Gerry”- 71, Big Marsh Road, Inverness County, died Tuesday August 21, 2007 in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital. Born in Big Marsh Road, Gerry was a daughter of the late Russell and Maude (Rouse) Matthews. Gerry was employed for years by A. A. Munro Insurance Agencies, Whycocomagh. Gerry was a member of Forbes United Church, River Denys and served as treasurer of the U.C.W. for many years. She was also a member of the Blues Mills Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by son Kevin, Big Marsh Road; sisters Florence Ellis, Big Marsh Road, Tena Waters, Blues Mills; brothers Billy (Mae), River Denys, John (Sadie), Blues Mills, Gerald (Eileen), Calvin (Glenda), both of Big Marsh Road; grandchildren Arthur, Jenelle and Chelsea; sister in law Nita Matthews, Whycocomagh. She was predeceased by her husband Arthur, brother Earl, brother in law Abbie and granddaughter Ashley in infancy. Visitation will be held today from 2-9pm in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral will be held Thursday at 11am at Forbes United Church with Rev. Janet Blois officiating. Burial in Fir Grove Cemetery, River Denys. Memorial donations may be made to Central Inverness County Palliative Care Society or Canadian Cancer Society.
