Haines, Laura Mae … 60, Canso, a very special lady, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend passed away Friday, August 14, 2009 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Ottawa, Ontario she was a daughter of Gerard and the late Mabel (McNeil) Fougere, Canso. Laura was a homemaker and a member of Star of the Sea Parish and choir, Canso. She was an avid crafter and quilt maker, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Br. 46, Canso, a member of The Red Hat Society, and a collector of Beanie Babies. Laura leaves behind her soulmate and best friend, husband Clayton; daughters Cindy (Kenny) Westmoreland, Tennessee, USA; Geraldine (companion Dave Herman), Dartmouth, sister, Mary Helpard, Sheet Harbour; brother, Edward Fougere, Canso; grandchildren, T.J. Wilson, Sierra, and Michael Gough, Daniel and Sophie Westmoreland. She will be sadly missed by her feline friend Mocha. She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph in infancy, Michael, Pat, and Vincent. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11a.m. Tuesday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, with Fr.
