Parker, Katherine Mae-63, Yellow Marsh, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2009 at Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. She was born in Wolfville, a daughter of Ena (Zwicker) Newell and the late Robert Newell. Katherine is survived by her mother Ena, Milford Haven Home for Special Care, Guysborough; husband George , son Darren (Penny Lewis) ,Five Islands; daughter Tracey (Jeff Eagles), Five Islands; grandchildren Sheldon, Josephine, Amelia and Madelyn. Siblings Edward Newell, Dartmouth; Kevin Newell, Antigonish; Bobbie Newell, Canso; Roberta Kuhn, Chester; Joan (Richard) Horne, Canso; Harold (Mary) Newell, Canso; Mary (John) Conrad, Amherst; Elsie Meggetto, Dartmouth. Katherine was predeceased by her sister Annette, in infancy and brother Michael Newell and sister-in-law Kathy Newell. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 26,2009 in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial to take place at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Katherine may be made to Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso.
