SMEENK, Wilhelmina Bernadina Cecilia - 92, Port Hawkesbury, formerly of Kingsville, Inverness Co., died Monday, December 22, 2008 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Gendringen, Holland, she was a daughter of the late Bernardus Janssen and Josephine Wittenhorst. Wilhelmina was a member of Saint Mary of the Angels Parish, Glendale and a former member of C.W.L. She is survived by her children, Benny (Theresa) and their daughter, Marjorie (David McNamara); Joseph (Eva) and their children, Tracy (Daniel) Conrad, Robert and Crystal; Billy and his children, Allan, Norman (Rosa), Bernice and Michelle; Anna MacColl, her children, Sandy (Trish), Johanna (Vaughn) McManus; Josephine (Harold) Smith and their children, Sonya (Mike) Carty, Henry (Shelly) and their children, Alicia (Ronald), Christopher (Tracy). Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren. Wilhelmina is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, William; brother Wim; sisters, Josephine and Maria and son-in-law, Earl "Billy" MacColl. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, with a vigil service at 2 p.m., both in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, Father Andrew Boyd officiating. Burial in Saint Mary of the Angels Parish Cemetery, Glendale. Family flowers only, please. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Wilhelmina to a charity of choice.
