Murray, Irene Mary – 90, Riverside, Inv Co., formerly of Point Tupper, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2009 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston. Born in Port Hawkesbury, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Louise (Warner) Ryan. She was a retired employee of N. S. Forest Industries (New Page). She is survived by daughter, Anne (Bill) Petrie, Balls Creek; sons, John, Squamish, BC; Lonnie, Soldiers Cove; Robert (Isabel Davies), Port Hawkesbury, 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, sisters, Catherine Murphy, Halifax and Gertie Coffin, Melville. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, John C., sisters, Stella MacMaster and Betty Murphy, brothers, Ernest, Henry, Gardiner and Fred. Visitation will take place Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 2 p.m. Friday in St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic Church, West Bay Road, with Father Barrett Claire-Johnson officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to West Bay Road Volunteer Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
