MacEachen, Mary Ellen, 92 … Port Hawkesbury formerly of Glendale, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 in the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Glendale, Inv. Co., she was a daughter of the late Angus A. and Sarah (MacKillop) MacEachen. Mary Ellen was a retired cook having worked for the Ford family in Michigan for 20 years. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, Port Hawkesbury, a former member of St. Mary’s of the Angel Parish, Glendale, and a member of Evergreen Seniors Club, Port Hawkesbury. Mary Ellen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John A., Alex Joseph and Donald; sisters, CSC Mary Philomena MacEachen, Margaret Chisholm, Catherine MacFarlane, Isabel MacEachen, Hughena MacEachen and Katherine Genge. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, in St. Mary’s of the Angel Church, Glendale with Father Barrett Claire-Johnson officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Mary Ellen may be made to a charity of choice.
