MacNEILL, Marion Florence —101, of Ainslie Glen, died Friday, August 7, 2009, in Inverary Manor, Inverness. Marion was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Janie (MacKinnon) MacNeill; brother, Donald and an infant brother. Marion graduated from Provincial Normal College and taught school until she retired in 1969. Marion was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Whycocomagh where she was a former choir member, Sunday school teacher and life member of the A.M.S. She was also a member of the Whycocomagh Historical Society and Bayville Senior's Club. Besides being a respected teacher, Marion spent her entire life dedicated to her family and community. Marion loved animals, the outdoors, reading, crossword puzzles and visiting family and friends. She also loved to go for drives and drove her own car for over 70 years. Marion is survived by her cousins, Robert (Rosaire), Jimmie (Kathleen), Cathy MacKinnon and their mother, Dolena, as well as Robert and Jimmie's children, Crista, Robby, Emily, Andrew and Angela. She is also survived by cousins in the United States.
Visitation is Saturday, August 8, from 2-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Whycocomagh. Funeral service Sunday, August 9, 3 p.m., St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Rev. Adam Lees officiating. Burial to follow Skye Glen cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to St. Andrew's Church, Skye Glen Cemetery or charity of choice.
