McCall (Stewart) Jeanette Lillian – 88, Mulgrave. It is with great sadness we announce the passing of wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother Jeanette McCall on Friday May 15, 2009, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital Antigonish. Born in Manassette Lake, Guys Co., she was daughter of the late Michael and Bertha (Carr) Shea. Jeanette was a member of St. Lawrence Parish Mulgrave and a member of the CWL and a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary Mulgrave Fire Department. She enjoyed bingo and playing cards and was a big Blue Jay fan. She was one of the Mulgrave Eagles biggest fans, and most of all a woman of great faith. She is survived by her husband of 50 years Gordon, daughters Yvonne Filipek, Phoenix, Az, Joyce Amirault, Riverview, NB, Isabel Halfpenny, Middle Melford, Glenda Fenech (Joseph), Oakville, ON, daughter in law Agnes Stewart, Langley ,BC, sons Bill Stewart (Millie Pelerine)East Tracadie, Neil Stewart(Betty), Port Hawkesbury, Russell Stewart (Jennifer), Halifax, Doug McCall (Nancy) Havre Boucher. 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren. She was the last surving member of her immediate family. She is predeceased by her first husband Joseph A Stewart(1954), son Daniel Stewart(1987) sons in law Robert Filepek, Rudy Amirault, Calvin Halfpenny, sisters Bessie Carter, Mary Shea, Ann Richardson, Margaret in infancy, brother Leonard. Visitation will be held 7-9 pm today 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday in the Mulgrave and Area Resting Place. Funeral mass will be held 11 am Monday May 18, from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, with Father Allan MacPhie officiating, burial in the Parish Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Mulgrave and Area Resting Place or St. Lawrence Parish. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
