Smith, Clarence Lloyd “Carnie” -61, Canso. The Smith Family of Canso deeply regrets the loss of the most loving, husband, father and grandfather Clarence Lloyd “Carnie” Smith. Carnie died January 16, 2009 in QEII Health Sciences Centre, VG Site. Born and raised in Canso he was a son of the late James and Flora (Richardson) Smith. Carnie was a former employee of Seafreeze Foods, Canso for 36 years and was employed with Steeple Jack Services Ltd at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Juanita (Nickerson); daughters Tracy (Gerry) King, Dartmouth; Sonya (Kevin) Welsh, Rachael Smith and partner Lori Connolly, both of Canso; also “his boy” Dylan, Canso; grandchildren Madison, Morganne, Bailee and Emily. He is also survived by brothers James (Linda), John, Stanley ”Huck”(Judy) and Cecil(Theresa) , all of Canso; Norman (Pam), Bedford sister Lynn (Michael) Childs, Hazel Hill. He was predeceased by brothers Carl, Lawrence and sister Winnifred “Winnie” O’Leary. Visitation will be held Monday, January19 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be held 11a.m. Tuesday in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial at a later date. Memorial donations in memory of Carnie may be made to a charity of choice.
