Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MYERS (MacLellan), Ann Maureen - 47, Kempt Road, Richmond Co. It is with great sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our loving sister, Maureen, on June 23, 2008, in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston, after a valiant battle with breast cancer. She met each challenge in her path with grace and dignity. Maureen was born a daughter of John Neil and Jeanette (Burke) MacLellan on October 26, 1960, in Inverness, Cape Breton. Maureen exemplified the phrase "giver of herself" by always putting her family and others first. She will be remembered as a lady who was caring, kind and helpful. For the past 29 years she was employed by NewPage (Stora Enso), Port Hawkesbury, as a sales accountant. She will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew and met her because of her charismatic and outgoing personality. Left to mourn are her daughter, Alysha; sisters, Cathy (Russ Berthier), Donna (Ronnie Berthier), Johnene (Earl Proctor); brothers, Malcolm (Maria) and John G., along with many cherished nieces and nephews. Maureen is also survived by special aunt, Sister Margaret Burke, CND; close friend, John Brown, and Alysha's adoptive father, David Myers. She was predeceased by her parents and infant brother, John Neil Jr.
At her request, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. Thursday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate her life will take place in St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury, on Friday at 11 a.m. with Father Bill Crispo officiating. A private committal of ashes to be held at a later date. Family flowers only, please. A trust fund has been set up for her daughter (Alysha Myers). Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted at any branch of the East Coast Credit Union. On-line condolences can be sent to: www.haverstocks.com
