Muriel Vera Ferguson Windsor/Cleveland, Richmond Co. Age 93, Windsor, formerly of Cleveland, Richmond Co., passed away peacefully in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor on Sunday, November 15, 2020. Born in Cleveland, she was a daughter of the late Roderick and Ethel (MacKillop) Ferguson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mom will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for many talents such as being a faithful and supportive wife to our dad whom she wed in 1951 and who again is holding her safe; her skills in the kitchen, especially for her "biscuits and chocolate chip cookies" and in true Cape Breton fashion her door was always open, the teapot always on the stove and ready and the playing cards close at hand. Mom raised four "brats" with a firm but yet always loving and supportive hand guiding them all to professional careers. Yet while being a full-time mother she still found the time to work as a storekeeper/owner, Post Mistress, United Church organist, treasurer and choir member and was an avid knitter and quilter and member of the Port Hawkesbury Seniors Club. Surviving are her daughter, Wanda (Don Chaddock), Hammonds Plains, with whom she resided before medical issues caused her to relocate; sons, Miles (Gail DeCoffe), Lower Sackville; Brian (Celina White), Amherst and Darren (Joanne), Quispamsis, N.B. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Scott, Michael (Anitra), Bradley (Andrea), Devin (Jess), Aaron (Audrey), Luke and Jack; granddaughter, Tammy DeCoffe-Nichols: great- grandchildren, Norah Ferguson, Alyssa and Kayla Nichols; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, Murdock A. Ferguson (1994); sister, Myrtle (Calvin) MacIntyre; brothers, Norman (Lorraine) and Kenneth (Jane). Her family wish to invite her relatives, friends and acquaintances to a committal service for her ashes. A graveside service will be held Saturday, 0ctober 8 2022 at 1 p.m. in Grantville Cemetery, Rev. Connie McNamara officiating. Donations may be made to Grantville Cemetery, C/O Carl MacKeigan, 13 J.D. MacLean Cresent, Port Hawkesbury, NS B9A 2B1 or any charity.
