Obituary of Heather Marie Deschenes
Deschenes, Heather “Grammie” (MacKinnon) – Age 69 – On July 26th, 2024 Heather passed away peacefully at home. Heather was born in Antigonish to Stanley and Isabell (MacLean) MacKinnon.
Heather is survived by her daughters, Lisa and Leanne and son-in-law's, Graham and Travis; and her stepson, Sylvain, she is survived by her beloved Grandchildren, Emma, Maggie, Isaiah, Payton and Shelby. Heather is also survived by her sisters, Sharon (Dave) Pringle, New Town, Hazel (Gordon) MacLean, Sugarcamp, Anna MacKinnon at home and sister-In-law, Marie MacKinnon, Port Hawkesbury. Heather is survived by her 11 Nieces and 3 Nephews and 13 Grandnieces and 7 Grandnephews. Heather is also survived by the Deschenes, her large extended family in Quebec.
Heather was pre-deceased by her husband, the love of her life, Regeant Deschenes; her parents, Isabell and Stanley MacKinnon; brothers, Howard and Allan; sisters, Ann and June; brother-in-law, Bob Downard and grandniece, Jordan Boudreau.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from St. David’s United Church, Port Hastings with Sandi Irving officiating. Burial will follow in St. David’s Cemetery, Port Hastings.
