Obituary of Linda Elaine Smith

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Linda Elaine Smith at the age of 79, Canso, who was surrounded by her loving family. Linda had the kindest heart with a smile that lit up the room. She cared fiercely for her loved ones and fought so hard to stay with us. Linda will be greatly missed but our hearts are filled with gratitude and wonderful memories; her positive attitude, enduring faith and unconditional love were an inspiration to us all. She will forever be our special angel.

Linda spent most of her earlier years as a homemaker and caregiver for her children. She leaves behind so many who treasured her. Linda is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Smith; 3 children, Jamie, Brad (Denise), Shannon (Joey); grandchildren, Caley, Justin, Kolby, Meaghan, Monet; great-grandchildren Jaxon, Aliyah and Kinsley.

Linda enjoyed gardening, boating and many enjoyable trips to the camp in her earlier years. She spent her last 3 years at the Canso Seaside Manor where she made many friends who will miss her dearly. She always enjoyed watching the boats in the harbour, the birds in the feeders and admiring the beautiful flowers.

We would like to thank the staff at the Canso Seaside Manor for all you have done for Linda. Your work, love and support has not gone unrecognized. There will be a private graveside ceremony for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canso Seaside Manor or a charity of your choice in her honour.
