ANDREWS, Lindsay Winston – Boylston, Guysborough Co. Today we announce the sudden passing of our beloved father, grandfather, uncle and brother. Dad passed away at home on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at the young age of 69. Lindsay was born in Manchester, Guysborough Co., on September 14, 1945 to the late James Osborne and Mary Stella (Wilcox) Andrews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Elaine (Chisholm) Andrews; sisters, Florence, Hazel, Edith, Eva and Elsie; brothers, Harvey and Ralph. Dad enjoyed his quiet Manchester life, his children and grandchildren as they visited. He knew everyone and everyone knew him. He had been employed with Nova Scotia Department of Transportation before moving on to R. Cook Enterprise, where he enjoyed the fresh open air building roads, installing wells and basements for people. He had not a care in the world how dirty he got when excavating or bulldozing. Dad will be missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind his children, Darlene, Truro; Glenda (Aubrey), Calgary; Trina (Robert); Kevin (Tanya), all of Antigonish; Melanie (Brent), Lower Sackville and Christopher, at home; grandchildren, Stephen, Ryan, Donovan, Savannah, Stephanie, Chelsea, Tyler, Kassandra, Elizabeth and Grayson. He is also survived by sisters, Myrtle (Lou) Baxter, Brighton, Ont; Evelyn MacDonald, Antigonish. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday from Boylston United Church with Rev. Heather Manuel officiating. Lindsay will be buried next to Mary Elaine in the Boylston Baptist Cemetery.
