ARMSWORTHY, Clyde Matthew - 81, Fox Island, died Saturday, September 8, 2007, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso, he was a son of the late Matthew and Eliza (George) Armsworthy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion and took an active part in the construction of the present legion hall building. He was also a member of the IOOF Lodge when it was in Canso. He served in the Canadian Army during the Second World War in Provost Corps. He attended Canso High School. He was a commercial fisherman and he built, owned and operated Seabreeze Park in Fox Island until he sold it in 1984. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Eileen (Swaine), Fox Island; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by older brother, Ralph, and a brother in infancy. There will be no visitation. Graveside service at a later date in Fourth Hill Cemetery with Rev. David Wheeler officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
