With a heavy heart that the family announces the passing of George 'Gary' Campbell, age 78 of St. Peter’s, Richmond County on Friday May 13, 2022. Gary passed away peacefully at Northside General Hospital, North Sydney. Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late George "Jiggs" and Esther (Kinney) Campbell. Gary is survived by his wife June Elizabeth (Martell) Campbell, sons Andrew James Campbell and Anthony George Campbell. Gary worked as a Millwright for 37 years, retiring in 1999. His passion for music was a great source of joy to him. He was known to his friends, family and the community as a kind and generous man. The family extends their thanks to the staff at Strait Richmond Hospital, Northside General Hospital, and most especially to his friends who assisted him during his illness. At the request of the family there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held at St. Peter’s United Church at 2 pm on Saturday, May 21, with Pastor Keith Wiseman officiating.
