Please share a memory of Sharon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
McLean, Sharon Hazel – Port Hawkesbury, NS. It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Sharon H. McLean of Port Hawkesbury. Born April 13, 1953 she was the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Myers) Smith. Sharon worked for many years as an administrative assistant. Her meticulous organizational skills, beautiful penmanship and cheery personality made an office run smoothly. Community minded she spent many hours volunteering at the local food bank. An excellent cook, you never left her house hungry. Sharon loved to go for rides on the Harley with Bernie. She enjoyed a good book, especially while reading outside on her swing.
Sharon will be dearly missed by her best friend and husband of 43 years, Bernie. A devoted and loving mother to her four children, Todd (Jennifer), Amber (Chris), Tyler (Noreen) and Troy. She was a proud "Gogo" to her only granddaughter, Emily. "Gogo" made the best slime and made sure the snack cupboard was always full! Sharon is also survived by her loving brother, Roy (Mary); sister-in-law, Rose Begg, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins, her good friend and cousin, Helen and her best friend since 7th grade, Roberta who will remember her fondly. Predeceased by her parents and her brother, Sonny.
Special thanks to the paramedics, who did everything they could for Sharon. There care and professionalism will never be forgotten by the family.
There will be no visitation and an invitation only funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 11a.m. in St. Mark’s United Church, Port Hawkesbury with Rev. Barbara MacNaughton officiating. Proof of double vaccination and photo ID are required.
