ORGAN, James Allen "Jimmy O" Age 76, West Bay, NS, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at home in the comfort of his bed. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Emma and James Organ. He was predeceased by his sister, Julie (Ken) Ingram, survived by wife, Carol Anne (Bellefontaine) Organ; brother, Bruce (Rosalie) Organ; children, Jim (Lisa), Ronnie (Ruthann), Robert (Leona) and Trina (Alex), 9 grandchildren, Luke, Emma, Tommy, Taylor, Logan, Gabriel, Haley, Olivia and Sarah, and great-grandson, Everyn. Jim moved to Cape Breton in 1969 with his devoted wife of 52 years. He built his family home in West Bay, where he raised 4 children of whom he was immensely proud. Jim spent his career as a pipefitter at the mill in Port Hawkesbury, where everyone knew him simply as "The O". Jim’s love of his family and home was followed closely by his love of sailing. His passion for the water began early in life sailing on his grandfather’s schooner out of Burnt Islands, Newfoundland. He bought his first boat and started on the Bras d’Or Lakes, graduating to his retirement boat "SeaDuction" and spent almost two decades sailing the Bahamas with Carol Anne by his side. Over the years he was able to have all his children and grandchildren spend time with him on the teal blue waters. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Dr. Collins and the Strait Richmond Palliative Care Team for their exceptional and compassionate support. He will be forever remembered by family and friends for his generous nature and charismatic spirit.
