It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Charlotte. Charlotte Rita Warner (nee Scott) wife of the late Leroy (Roy) Warner of Steep Creek, Guysborough County, N.S. passed away peacefully on the Palliative Care Unit of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, N.S. on Friday, November 19, 2021.

Charlotte was born on November 25, 1936 to the late Leonard and Lula (Jamieson) Scott of Melford, Guysborough County, N.S. She is the last surviving member of her family.

Mom and Dad married on September 29, 1956 at St. James Anglican Church in Middle Melford, N.S.

Left to mourn with loving memories are daughters; Barbara (Maurice) Ehler, Dartmouth; Maxine (the late Peter) Connolly, Guysborough Intervale; Margie (Sherman) England, Antigonish; Lynda (Trent) Johnson, Bedford; sons; Charles (Sharon) Warner, Steep Creek; Lenny (Janice) Warner, Steep Creek; and John (Laura) Warner, Mulgrave; her precious grandchildren that she was so proud of: Lindsey, Matthew, Christina, Andrew, Patricia, Kenneth, Mitchell, Daniel, Jonathan, Brandon, Avery, Abbie, Mackenzie and Tucker and her cherished great grandchildren; Audrey, Thomas, Warner, and Joanna.

Charlotte was predeceased by son-in-law Peter, great granddaughter Gwyneth Marie, her six brothers; Ervin, Earl, Edward, Basil, Raymond, Marvin, and cherished sister Stella.

Mom was a lifelong and faithful member of St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford. Family was the most important legacy of her 84 years that included her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her fridge always contained the most recent photos of the grandchildren. Mom never missed a birthday or anniversary with just the right acknowledgement for the special occasion.

The wife, mother and grandmother of fishermen, she kept a keen eye and ear to the weather on land and sea by radio and from the view of her kitchen window; on a windy day she would always wait for the acknowledgement that the boat had safely made it back to port.

Mom was humble and quiet and with our Dad raised us seven children. Mom worked hard every day making bread and meals with love and that love has spilled over into our own families. Mom enjoyed keeping up-to-date on the activities of all the grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was equally proud of each and every one - they were truly blessed to have this special person in their lives who was affectionally known as Nanny or Nanny Warner.

We are truly grateful for the care Mom received while in hospital, but we are especially thankful to the Palliative Care Unit of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish, we were all able to be with her in her last couple of days in an environment that was respectful and supportive of her needs and ours, so it is our wish that memorial donations be made to St. Martha’s Palliative Care Unit in her memory or to St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford, NS.

As per Mom’s request there will be no visitation. Due to Covid restrictions an immediate family only service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Middle Melford, N.S.Interment of Ashes for the late Charlotte Rita Warner will take place
Saturday October 29, 2022 at 2 pm at St. James Anglican Church Cemetery,
Middle Melford with the Reverend Susan Slater officiating.
