MacLean; John Lauchlin of Whycocomagh, Inverness Co, Age 75. Passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 23, 2020 in Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Known to most everyone in the community as "Lauchie Tom," he was the son of the late Tom and Margaret (MacKinnon) MacLean. He resided his entire life on the family farm in Churchview, where he enjoyed working on the land and in the woods. Lauchie was retired from the Department of Transportation, where he made many friends throughout the area. He loved the outdoors, and spent many happy times with pals going hunting and fishing. Spring was welcomed each year with the promise of a big feed of lobsters and harness racing season; both of which he greatly enjoyed. Always quick to lend a hand to anyone, Lauchie will be remembered as an easy-going and kind-hearted soul. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann, and many cousins. Lauchie will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Special thanks are extended to the Home Care Nurses who visited Lauchie in the last year, the nurses and staff of Victoria County Memorial Hospital, the Palliative Care team, Dr. Ritter and Dr. Tribo. Cremation has taken place, interment to follow at a later date in Stewartdale Cemetery. Donations in Lauchie’s memory may be made to the Hospice Society of Victoria County, Stewartdale Cemetery or charity of your choice.
