LANGLEY, Marie - Age 75, Point Tupper - passed away peacefully Saturday, April 27, 2019 in Strait Richmond Hospital, Evanston surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Sunnyside, Richmond County. She was a daughter of the late Annie C (MacKinnon) and Alfred Olsen.
Marie was an exceptional mother to Susan (Bruce Schnarr), Heidelberg, ON; Patti (Scott) Robertson, Lunenburg, Bonnie, Tanya (Craig) MacLean, both of Point Tupper, Betty, Halifax. An amazing Nana to Leah, Andrew and Owen.
Survived by sister, Rena (late Gordon) MacPhail; brothers, Murdoch (Marguerite) Olsen, Roy (late Kay) Olsen and brother-in-law, Pearlie Malcolm; Auntie Ree to many nieces and nephews. Special aunt to Steve and Dave Malcolm.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Fred in 2010 and siblings, Betty Malcolm, Oscar (Gloria LeBlanc) Olsen and Jean (Vernon) Amos.
Girl Guides was a huge part of her life. She spent almost 50 years in the guiding movement where she received the Lifetime Achievement Award. She was the driving force behind Camp Cairdeas where she organized and attended camps up until the age of 74. She was a member of Point Tupper Heritage Association where she was involved in many of the community events. Marie was always fundraising for many different organizations.
Saturday mornings she enjoyed going to yard sales with her friend Ruth. Knitting, sewing for others, crossword scratch tickets, the daily crossword puzzle were a few of the things she enjoyed.

A memorial service will take place at the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2019. This will be followed by fellowship at around 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend both.
Family flowers only. Memorial donations in memory of Marie may be made to Camp Cairdeas Maintenance Fund, Point Tupper Historical Society or Cathy’s Place in Antigonish. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
