Obituary
Please share a memory of Edna to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Elizabeth MacInnis of Hazeldale, Victoria County. Edna died peacefully at age 80 on Sunday, March 31, 2019, surrounded by loving family in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital.
Born at Orangedale East on April 17th, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Margaret (MacDonald) MacPherson.
Edna’s unassuming resilience and determination were shown as she raised her young family after being widowed half way through her life. She learned to drive at the age of 40! She was employed at Little Narrows Gypsum Company for 19 years, retiring in 2003.
She was a faithful member of the Little Narrows Presbyterian Church. Edna grew up in a large family and remained extremely close and dedicated to her siblings. Whether it was a spirited game of cards with the brothers and sisters or vacations with the sisters (the Golden Girls), she cherished her time spent and laughter shared.
She is survived by sons, Ian (Elaine), Truro; Lee (Heather), Hazeldale; Shawn (Margaret Ann), Washabuck; her beloved talented grandchildren, Daniel & Sarah, Connor & Morgan and John Ross & Emily; sister, Mary (Frederick); brothers, Thompson, Archie (Velda), and Malcolm; sisters-in-law, Jessie MacKinnon, Carman MacKinnon, Evelyn Hebb, Marilyn Matheson, Judith Nelson, Margie MacPherson, Marcie McIntyre and Betty MacPherson; brother-in-law, Calvin MacInnis; numerous nieces and nephews; godson Daniel Nelson.
Predeceased by husband, Dan; brothers, Peter, Alex, Jimmy, DJ, Murdock in infancy; sister, Effie; sister-in-law, Annie Mae MacPherson.
Many thanks for the support of family and friends and the doctors and staff of Victoria County Memorial Hospital. And above all thanks to Heather for making these last months as comfortable and enjoyable as anyone could imagine!
In keeping with Edna's wishes there will be no visitation or memorial service. A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Saturday July 27th, 2019 at 10:00 AM in Little Narrows Cemetery.
