HAINES, Marilyn Ethel – Age 76, Little Dover, Guysborough Co., passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Arichat she was a daughter of the late Homer and Edith (McGrath) Nickerson.
Marilyn was a member of St. Agnes Parish, Little Dover and a former member of St. Agnes Parish Auxiliary. Marilyn was known for her knitting having knitted over 200 dish cloths. She enjoyed going to bingo. Most important to Marilyn was quality time with her family.
Surviving are her daughter, Melonie Haines, Lower Sackville; sons, Darren (Tammy) Nickerson, Halifax; Tracey Haines, Little Dover; Danny (Denise) Haines, Halifax; sisters, Pat Pope, Ontario; sister-in-law who was like a sister to her, Celene (Arnold) Rhynold, Queensport; sister, Darlene Munroe, Halifax; brother, Doug (Bev) Nickerson, Little Dover; granddaughters, Jessica and Memory; great-grandson, Liam; uncle, Mort McGrath, Arichat. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank; brother, Junior; sister, Jean.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with Father Jonathan Nnajiofor officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
