MacPherson, Duncan John "DJ"- Age 75 years of Whycocomagh, Inverness Co. With profound sadness we the family of DJ announce his passing on Monday, January 14, 2019 in the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Inverness.
DJ was born in Orangedale East on February 2, 1943 he was a son of the late Ross and Margaret (MacDonald) MacPherson. DJ was happy and would be there for anyone, at anytime. He worked at various jobs.
DJ enjoyed nothing more than a good game of auction. And watch out if he was losing the game on Saturday night at his sister, Edna’s house. He enjoyed nothing more than a good conversation of politics, and if you weren’t talking about the Liberal party forget it, he wasn’t chatting politics.
DJ is survived by his chosen son, Chris Beaton, Sydney; brothers, Thompson, Toronto; Archie (Velda), Beaver Bank; Malcolm, Orangedale East; sisters, Mary (Frederick) MacKinnon, Ashfield; Edna (late Dan) MacInnis, Hazeldale; sisters-in-law, Margie, Aberdeen; Betty, Sydney and Marcie, London, Ont. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces, nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Peter, Alex and Jimmy; sister, Effie.
A special thank-you to Chris Beaton and Christine MacDonald as well as DJ’s family Dr. Rhea MacDonald and all the nurses of Inverness Hospital; and Palliative care Team Lori Ann MacDonald, Johena MacLellan.
In keeping with DJ’s wishes there will be no visitation or memorial service by request. A graveside committal will be held in Little Narrows Cemetery on July 27th, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made in DJ’s memory to the Inverness Central Palliative Care. Arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh.
