NICHOLAS, William John – Age 49, We’koqma’q First Nation, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Pictou Landing, he was a son of the late John Noel and Julia (Clair) Nicholas.
Surviving are his common in law wife, Lucille Bernard; daughter, Julia, We’koqma’q; son, Ayrton, We’koqma’q; step son, Randy Alex, Eskasoni; sisters, Mary Bridget Paul (Herman), Eskasoni; Mary Irene Parker (Kenny), Pictou Landing; Margaret Nicholas, Pictou Landing; Noreen (John) Milleau, Big Cove, NB; Fran Nicholas (Everett Savary), Pictou Landing; Janet Stevens (Dwayne), Eskasoni; Shirley Prosper (Peter deceased), Eskasoni; brother, Thomas Clair (Esther), Big Cove, NB; adopted mother, Murielle (Fraser) Parkes, Montreal; adopted siblings, Deborah Parkes, Daniel Parkes and James Parkes; numerous nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Douglas Simon Clair, Joseph Simon Clair, John Roger Nicholas; sister, Agnes Nicholas; adopted sister, Penelope Parkes.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Saturday at John Gerard Googoo’s residence 86 Subdivision Rd, We’koqma’q First Nation. He will then be transferred on Sunday to rest mawi’tamk after 1 p.m. at 35 Subdivision Rd. We’koqma’q. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday from Blessed St. Katari Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Cremation will follow. Burial at a later date.
