MALCOLM, Violet Loretta – Age 90, of Port Hawkesbury and formerly of Point Tupper, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Port Malcolm she was a daughter of the late Cornelius and May (Meunier) Malcolm.
Violet is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Martin) Latimer, Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren who she loved dearly, Robert and Evan, both of Halifax. She is also survived by her best friends, Betty Langley and Marie King; nieces and nephews, Johnny Malcolm (Debbie); Joyce Buckley, Reading, Mass, USA; Diane Indoccio, Hampton, Hew Hampshire; Mary Buckley (Preston), Nantucket; Faith Sweeney, Newberry Port, Mass, USA. She was predeceased by her long time companion and friend, Earl King; sister, Yvonne Malcolm.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, March 18 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral mass will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 19 from St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Port Hawkesbury with Father Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.
