Heather Ann Burton June 18, 1948 – March 25, 2022 Cleveland It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Heather Ann Burton which occurred on Friday, March 25, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Edward and Mom to her sons, whom she cherished. In addition to her sons, she was a second Mom to many who thought of her as a mentor and confidant. Heather loved to welcome everyone into her home. She always had an ear to lend and a unique one-liner to help bring a smile. Many left well-fed and with a full heart, and Heather’s unique laugh still ringing in their ears. Time spent in Cleveland, South Harbour and the Mansion on the Hill were dearest to her. Heather is survived by her husband, Edward; sons, Dale (Jill), Darren (Carla), Dean (Tuesdaie), Paul (Abbie) Matthews; grandchildren, Lauren, Cole, Layla, Tyler, Daryl-Leigh, Matthew, Millie; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Brooklyn; sister Janice Moriarty; brother, Robert MacDougall and many other special family members and friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Hectorene (MacDonald) MacDougall; step-father, Frank MacDougall; sister, Cindy MacAdam; mother and father-in-law, Lillian and John Henry Burton in addition to numerous other family members. A special thank you to the staff of the PCU, ICU and Palliative Care units at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in Antigonish for caring for Mom in her final days. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be from 11a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury, and from where the service will follow with Margie MacIntyre, LLWL officiating. Mask and social distancing are mandatory. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
