BERNARD, Christie Ann- Age 29, We’koqma’q First Nation, passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2016, in the Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Baddeck. Born in Baddeck, she was a daughter of Mary Rose Googoo and the late Roy Joseph Bernard. Christie was a member of Blessed St. Kateri Parish, We’koqma’q First Nation.
Besides her mother, she is survived by brothers, Randall Googoo (Melissa Young), Gordon (Cammeilia) Googoo, both of We’koqma’q; Norman (Sylvia) Bernard, Preston (Andrea) Bernard, Andrew Simon, all of Wagmatcook. She was predeceased by her brother, Herman Bernard.
Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Saturday in the Multi Purpose Building, 160 Reservation Road, We’kogma’q First Nation. Funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Monday from Blessed Kateri Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q with Father Paul Abbass officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Whycocomagh. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www.haverstocks.com
