Obituary
Please share a memory of Harold to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bugbee, Harold A. - 74 Valley Mills, Inverness Co., Cape Breton, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife by his side on Sunday, December 21, 2014. He was a son of the late Harold and Beatrice (Bellefontaine) Bugbee.
Harold worked many years as a longshoreman for ILA Halifax; he also worked in the forestry industry, and spent many years as a lobster and crab fisherman in L’Ardoise. So many passions in life, but none more than his love for his family, hunting and fishing. This completed him as he and his wife spent many hours traveling the woods to find that perfect Stillwater. This passion has been carried on by his children and grandchildren.
Dad, thank you for introducing both Harold and I to our love of fishing. Because of you we will always find the same peacefulness year after year in the outdoors and will think of you every fishing trip when we have tea and roast wieners by the water’s edge.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Shirley (Martell) Bugbee; daughter, Sherry (Gary), Bridgewater; son, Harold (Kelly), West Lake Ainslie; grandchildren, Courtney, Kaleb, Brando, Jagger and Zada. Harold is also survived by his sisters, Laura, (Floyd McCully); Cora (Jimmy Smith) and Sheila (John Hunter) all of Halifax. He was predeceased by his brothers, Leonard and Ronnie.
A Special "Thank You" to their caring friends, Johnny and Linda MacDonald of Valley Mills who have been such a great help and support.
Cremation has taken place. An immediate family gathering will take place at a later date for spreading of Harold's ashes in the Cape Breton Highlands. Donations may be made in memory of Harold to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
Funeral arrangements are under the care of Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at: www.haverstocks.com
