BOUDREAU, Vernon William – 66, Canso, Guysborough Co. passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 in the QEII, Infirmary Site, Halifax. Born in Little Dover, he was a son of the late James "Jim" and Blanche (Keefe) Boudreau.
Vernon enjoyed fishing, whether being somewhere out on a lake, or on the Canso draggers. He was formerly employed by Canso Seafood’s and Hart Stores. He was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 46, Canso, Canso Lions Club and the Canso Volunteer Fire Dept. He was a very loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle.
Vernon is survived by his beloved wife, Marlaine(Jackson) Boudreau; daughter, Janice Boudreau (Sid), Canso; sons, Brad (Lisa), Brian (Lauralee), both of Truro Heights; and Vernon (Nicole), Dartmouth; brothers, Dave (Carol), Little Dover; Austin (Dorothy), Bayfield; sisters, Betty Boudreau, Little Dover; Marg Parker (Perry), Canso; also sister-in-law, Jean Boudreau, Canso; grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica, Gregory, Billy-Jo, Shelby, Dillen, Taylor, Marcus, Zachery, Ian, Lexie and Kiersten, great-grandchildren, Tyree, Jordan and Preston. He was predeceased by son, William James "Billy", brothers, Harry and Garfield, sisters, Sandra and Victoria.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 4 from 2-9 p.m. in the Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, October 5, at 11 a.m. from Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso with Father Andrew Gillies officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
