Bond, Edna Christina – 95, Canso, Guysborough Co., passed away on Friday, October 22, 2010 in Eastern Memorial Hospital, Canso. Born in Canso, she was a daughter of the late Hurbert and Sadie (Lumsden) Feltmate. Edna is survived by her children, Rolland Bond, John H. Bond, Stella (Joe) Rideout all of Canso; Marion Dort , Hazel Hill; Catherine (Laurie) Phillips, Halifax; Myrna (Everett) Bouchie, Little Dover; Arnold Bond, Canso. She also leaves to mourn her 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Edna was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by husband, John “Jack” Bond, daughters, Mary in infancy and Dorothy Avery, sons, Stanley, Ralph and Lloyd, sisters, Gertie, and Jenny, brothers, Roland, Ross, Bill and her loving pet of 21 years Ginger. Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Monday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Canso United Baptist Church with Rev. Betty Wheeler officiating. Burial in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Parish Cemetery, Canso. Family flowers only please. Memorial donations in memory of Edna may be made to a charity of your choice.
