BAILLIEUL, Jean - 83. Surrounded by her loving family, Jean Baillieul of Port Hawkesbury passed away Thursday, May 24, 2007, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish. Born in Consul, Sask., she was a daughter of the late Gordon Byron and Ruby Mae (Tooke) MacMillan.
After graduating business school in Calgary, she worked for the Alberta Government and later worked for Woolco in Port Hawkesbury, where she was employed for 19 years, and later retired in 1989. Jean was a member of St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury, and also a member of Evergreen Seniors Club. She is survived by daughters, Lynne Baillieul-Crane, Port Hawkesbury; Eleanor (Ronald "Tut") Robichaud, Port Hawkesbury; Ann (Reg) Griffith, Dartmouth; Kathy (Graham) Baillieul-Scott, Port Hawkesbury; sister, Marion Zeron, White Rock, B.C.; grandchildren, Richard Crane, Krista (Mike) MacDonald, Kimberly Crane, Sandra (Brad) Raike, Nancy (Casey) Sheahan, Nicole and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Matthew, Ethan, Emma Jean, and Abbey; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Charles; brothers, Malcolm, Ronald; sister, Lois Patterson, and an infant grandson.
There will be no visitation at Jean's request. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, May 28, in St. Mark's United Church with Rev. Wilfred Pelley officiating. Burial in Southbrook Cemetery at a later date. Family flowers only. Memorial donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or St. Mark's United Church Building Fund.
