BOWMAN, Frances Eileen 'Kay' - 86, Port Hawkesbury, died Monday, November 21, 2005, in Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Born in Elderbank, Halifax Co., she was a daughter of the late Milton and Bessie (Ogilvie) Innis. Kay was a homemaker and member of St. Mark's United Church, Port Hawkesbury. She was a former member of the Strait Area Community Curling Club and also served on the board of the Nova Scotia Housing Commission. Surviving are daughter, Gail (Paul) Desjardins, Toronto; sons, Jim (Cathy), New Hamburg, Ont.; Brian (Catherine Anne), Port Hawkesbury; grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Adam, Katie, and James. Kay was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh; sister, Alice Fournier; brothers, Chester, Gerald, and Murray. Visitation will be held 6-9 p.m. today in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in St. Mark's United Church, Rev. Wilfred Pelley officiating. Burial in Southbrook Cemetery. Donations in memory of Kay may be made to the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
