BURKE, Amelda Jeanne - 78, River Bourgeois, died Tuesday February 1, 2005, in the Richmond Villa, St. Peter's. Born in River Bourgeois, she was a daughter of the late Alcide and Anastasia (Deveau) Burke. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Baptist parish, River Bourgeois and the C.W.L. She was a member of the River Bourgeois Senior's Club and a senior bowler. She also enjoyed a good game of cards. Surviving are her husband, Alex; daughter, Claudette (Joe) King, Evanston; daughter-in-law, Claire Burke, River Bourgeois; son, Mark (Marie), River Bourgeois; sister, Leda Konning (the late Tony), Catherine (George) Boudreau, both of River Bourgeois; grandchildren, Tony (Jen), Port Coquitlam, B.C.; Melissa, Nanaimo, B.C.; Mark Jr. (Viola), Mitchel, Andy, Lynn and Melanie, all of River Bourgeois; Patrick and Alyson King, Evanston; great-grandson, Dylan; Godchildren, Brian Burke, Doreen Burke, Colleen Sampson, Elizabeth MacNamara, and Gloria Boudreau. She was predeceased by son, Gus; one son and one daughter in infancy; brother, Alfred.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday in River Bourgeois Community Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday in St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Father Reg Currie officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Amelda may be made to Strait Richmond Hospital, Richmond Villa or a charity of your choice.
