BROPHY, Joseph Lawrence 'Larry' - 52, Mulgrave, passed away Saturday, October 16, 2004, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre, Halifax.
Born in Antigonish, he was the son of Ella Mae (MacDonald) Brophy of Mulgrave and the late Seward Brophy.
Larry was employed with the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, Mulgrave, for 32 years. He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish, Mulgrave. Larry was a well-known musician, having his own band 'Larry and the Newcomers'.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary MacDonald; daughters, Tracy (Jody) DeCoste, Steep Creek; Heather (Joe) Brennan, Mulgrave; sisters, Gloria (Dan) Grady, Port Hawkesbury; Pam (Randy) Hadley, Aulds Cove; grandchildren, Kristen, Danielle, Conner, Kailey, Emma; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, in the family residence, 134 Loggie Street, Brophyville, Mulgrave.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, from St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, with Father Peter MacLeod officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery.
Family flowers only please.
Donations in memory of Larry may be made to the Strait Area Kidney Foundation or St. Lawrence Cemetery Fund.
