BOND, Van Gerard ? 44, Canso, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2004, at home. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of John "Jack" F. and Bernice (Casey) Bond, Canso. Van had many friends and was loved by all. He was an avid walker and loved to walk along the shore. He loved and supported everything that happened in his community. He was a volunteer and supporter of the Stan Rogers Folk Festival. He will be missed by all. He was a member of Star of the Sea parish, Canso. He is survived by sister, Theresa Bond and companion Ray Stevens, Cole Harbour; sister-in-law, Flora Bond, Canso; brothers, Wayne (Marie) Sullivan, Terry (Wanda) Sullivan; Frank (Della) Sullivan, all of Canso; Graham Bond and companion Lynn Willoughby, Prospect Bay; Mike (Donette) Bond, Canso; Carl (Mary Lou) Bond, Hazel Hill; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Saturday, January 10, in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be 2 p.m. Sunday, December 11, in Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, Canso, Father Daniel Boudreau officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery at a later date, Memorial donations may be made to Star of the Sea Building Fund. Online condolences to: www.haverstocks.com
