Dobson, Maxine Regeana – Age 74 years. Passed away suddenly at home in Canso on Friday, January 28, 2022. Maxine was born in Canso on April 16, 1947.
She is survived by her husband, Basil Dobson and daughters, Tracy Dort, Halifax; Carrie Beth (Francis) Jamieson; Cheryl Dobson, both of Canso; sister-in-law, Ruth Gesner and four grandsons, Brandon & Nikolaus Werenka and Brent & Shawn Myatt. Predeceased by her sister, Barbara Arseneau; brother-in-law, Paul Arseneau; brother, Wayne George; sister-in-law, Hazel Richard.
Besides being a long-time member and treasurer to the Ladies Auxiliary Canso Vol. Fire Dept and member of All Saints Anglican Church, Canso, Maxine loved to catch up with friends - especially Facebook, where she was able to reacquaint with many from all over. She was famous for striking up a conversation with anyone she met and had an amazing memory for remembering names; places and all kinds of things that we took for granted she would know. Anyone who knew Maxine will attest to how much determination and strength she had over the years with many health issues and her positive attitude throughout it all.
There is no visitation by request. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in All Saints Anglican Church, Canso with Vonda George-Card officiating, for family members only due to current Covid-19 restrictions. Burial at a later date.
Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to All Saints Anglican Church Cemetery Fund, Canso.
